Executive chefs for many years, according to the palates of family, friends, and acquaitances; Fred Henry, Keisha Henry, and Tia Henry corroborated to form this quaint creole restaurant in the Holy Cross area of the city of  New Orleans. After enduring an abundance of hurdles and road blocks, on June 30, 2012, the trio opened the doors of Café Dauphine.  The restaurant provides residents of the lower Ninth Ward/Holy Cross section of the Crescent City a warm dining venue within their community.  The vision of the three (3) founders is and has been to provide economic stability to an area where pride and resilience has always been the foundation for its viability.  The restaurant will always stand as a reminder of those long-standing virtues.

 

Since the building’s structure is located in a National Historic District, little change was made to the exterior in an effort to maintain its historical character. The exterior, however, was modernized with the application of stucco and the addition of six (6) large windows which reveal panoramic views of old New Orleans architecture of surrounding homes. The inside, on the other hand, was totally remodeled and modernized; featuring an open kitchen, intricate wood work, and custom built tables (all the craftsmanship of owner Fred Henry, Jr., the general contractor of the project).

 

The menu features southern cuisine, while the atmosphere vibes a casual chic ambiance.  Our goal is to provide you with the same quality food, superior hospitality, and unique atmosphere that you’d expect to find in the more notable locales of New Orleans creole restaurants, acknowledged for their outstanding southern cuisine and culturally rich surroundings.   More importantly, we would like you to know, "our meals will perpetually be prepared with love and passion!”
